Advantix Spot on in dogs
Advantix is an extremely effective Spot-On treatment in dogs that contains Imidacloprid and Permethrin. It can only be bought at your vet and is not for use in cats.
Fleas on your dog are killed within one day following treatment. It also kills the larval stages in the immediate environment. It will continue to kill fleas for 4 weeks and ticks for 3 weeks so use it monthly. Ticks already on your dog may not be killed within 2 days and so removal of ticks at the time of application is necessary. Apply some surgical spirit to the tick and use either your fingers or a tick remover to remove its whole head and mouthparts. This may be painful to your pet depending on where the tick is attached.
Advantix is also effective against sandflies and mosquitoes and is very good treatment for dogs travelling to warmer climates such as Spain or France. One treatment will repel sandflies for 2 weeks and mosquitoes for 2 or 4 weeks depending on the type of mosquito.
Apply only to undamaged skin at the back of your dog's neck. Prevent any mutual grooming between pets and especially - keep your cat away from your dog if he likes to groom it!
Advantix remains effective if your dog becomes wet but prolonged intense exposure to water should be avoided. In cases or frequent water exposure, do not repeat more frequently than once weekly.
